Data Accuracy

The operational ocean–meteorological observation systems developed by the COMC have established a comprehensive and reliable workflow — covering instrument design, development, assembly, field deployment, real-time data transmission, quality control, and data services. Through years of stable operation, COMC has developed a consistent and dependable system with a robust quality management framework, certified under the international ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard and awarded multiple national patents.
The passive goal of data quality control (QC) is to identify and flag questionable data, while the active goal is to further validate and verify data accuracy. Since quality control is closely related to every stage of the data processing workflow, a deep understanding is required of instrument characteristics, design, and calibration, measurement principles and limitations, communication system maintenance and verification, data processing methods, environmental background correlations, and data archiving practices. Only through such comprehensive understanding can long-term and systematic analyses be performed on data characteristics across different temporal and spatial scales, ensuring effective quality management and achieving high data accuracy and reliability.
