In the challenging and ever-changing marine environment,\u00a0oceanographic and meteorological observations\u00a0are demanding tasks that require\u00a0years of offshore operational experience\u00a0to ensure sustainability. To develop critical observation technologies and establish a capable technical team to assist the government in conducting\u00a0long-term, stable ocean and coastal monitoring, the\u00a0Coastal Ocean Monitoring Center (COMC)\u00a0was established.<\/p>

At present, COMC has a\u00a0multidisciplinary team of around 33 full-time researchers, responsible for\u00a0operating and maintaining 28 nearshore and offshore monitoring stations\u00a0around Taiwan, as well as performing\u00a0data quality control and analysis. To promote\u00a0localization of observation technology, COMC has built a\u00a0professional technical and logistical support system\u00a0that integrates experts in\u00a0oceanography, hydraulics, meteorology, materials, structural engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and information technology. The COMC also conducts\u00a0standardized and disciplined observation operations\u00a0to ensure data reliability and continuity. Through\u00a0talent cultivation and cross-disciplinary integration, COMC has successfully established\u00a0a sustainable operational capability for ocean and meteorological observation, which serves as a crucial foundation for\u00a0long-term marine environmental monitoring\u00a0in Taiwan.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
