About Us

Founded in 1998, COMC is a member of the NCKU’s innovation ecosystem, boasting a research team of over 30 dedicated professionals. Our primary mission revolves around the development of cutting-edge marine observation technologies, collaborating with government initiatives to establish a marine meteorological observation network, monitoring and forecasting pertinent marine meteorological conditions, and fostering the growth of talents in the field of marine research.

Welcome to COMC

We extend a warm welcome to Dr. Hasehawa from FRA in Japan, Dr. Bao Junhong from Academia Sinica, Assistant Professor Liao Wenxuan from the Department of Geosciences at NCKU, Teacher Lu Yipei from the Department of Life Sciences, and Director Chen Xianzong and his team from the Water Technology Center, NCKU, for visiting our center on March 26th. Visit from the Department of Maritime Information Technology, NKUST

Director Hsieh Chih-Min from the Department of Maritime Information Technology, NKUST, led faculty members and students from the department to visit our center on March 22nd. Both parties engaged in discussions and exchanges on the operationalization of marine meteorological observations.

Congratulations! Consultant Ching-Jer Huang led the team to receive an award at the National Defense Science and Technology Conference.

The COMC's consultant, Ching-Jer Huang, led a team including Dr. Li-Chung, Wu and Dr. Kuan-Wen, Liu (pictured on the left), in conducting research on the installation of underwater acoustic measurements and the establishment of a sea surface imaging system on oceanographic buoys, with real-time data feedback. Their achievements were honored with the second-place Best Paper Award at the 32nd National Defense Science and Technology Academic Conference. It is anticipated that this research will become a valuable asset in future anti-submarine warfare.

COMC is assisting the National Academy of Marine Research in organizing the Taiwan Ocean Radar Workshop on October 23-24. We have invited experts in marine radar from various sectors for discussions, aiming to enhance the maintenance, technological development, data exchange, collaborative efforts, and applications of marine radar in Taiwan
