More than 150 participants from Germany, Mainland China, Japan, Poland, Australia, Chile and local institutions attended the symposium. n    Welcome Prof. Laura David from Philippine University, Dr. Nani Hendiarti from Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) of Indonesia, Dr. Nguyen Phi Khu and Dr. Man from Institute of Applied Mechanics (IAM) of Vietnam and Dr. Aryo Hanggono from Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia. They attended the APEC/MRC/OMISAR steering meeting at COMC. (Jun, 2006)

n    The twelfth data buoy around Taiwan has been deployed at Chiku, Tainan Country at May. The Successful Rate of Observation (SRO) is 96% for the first month. (Jun, 2006)

n    Welcome Dr. Chung-Chu Teng from US National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). He gives lectures about buoy measurements. (Jun, 2006)

n    Welcome Prof. Werner Zielke from the Fluid Mechanics Institute, University of Hannover. He gives lectures about offshore wind-energy-converters. (Jun, 2006)

n    PhD student, Mr. H.Y. Cheng won the scholarship of NSC-DAAD summer institute program. He will study at the Coastal Research Centre, Joint Institution of the University of Hannover and the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany for two months (Jun, 2006)

n    PhD student, Ms. P.H. Chen won the scholarship of NSC-Japan Interchange Association summer program for doctoral candidates. She will study at the Research Center for Disaster Environment, Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University, Japan for two months (Jun, 2006)

n    The first deep water buoy of Taiwan was deployed at Gagua Ridge where is 250 km away from Taiwan eastern coast. The water depth of the buoy location is 4800m. (May,2006) see the location. see the data.
